A private press album by the Courtyard Music Group - an album that is now talked about in hushed tones and scarcely comes up for sale - here at 1818 we are thrilled to present an original copy of the fabled tiny pressing - CMG was recorded at The Kilquhanity House School in Galloway and was pressed at Deroy in Carnforth , it is a beguiling of mix of what is now termed Acid Folk with the track Jam and Gypsy Cream being the go to track for out and out weirdness , remember this album was made by a group a kids under the watchful eye of their music teacher , This copy has the inserts with the illustration ( screen printed ) and the lyrics and comes in a thick card sleeve which shows light age related wear as in the attached photos . There is no spine as such ( this is how it was printed ) and close inspection does show some age spotting and creases towards the top opening edge , For an album that was recorded in the summer of 1974 it seems to have weathered very well . The vinyl has a couple of light marks on side one that cause light background for a short period and there are also a couple of marks in the run out groove on side one , side two is clean and the labels are also very clean on both sides . It does carry a Deroy catalogue number DER 1098 in the run out of side two - we have actually had one copy in before and the demand was high , as we expect it to be for this copy . An incredible artefact and one that will continue to rise in price , the official reissue from a few years ago is now highly collectable in it's own right and seemed to push the demand up for the original even more - Viewing is of course recommended and if we can help you with any more information please free to contact us .
